I read an article on how to photograph splashes. (well it was actually how to make patterned water, but I couldn't find a bowl that had a design on it!) So I decided to try it out today. I used a tripod, an aqua bowl and a red bowl (which was too small), my Nikon Coolpix P80, a medicine dropper, a ruler, and two of my sisters who obligingly helped me out.

I used the fastest shutter speed my camera has (on manual mode). Since it was so fast, I took these all outside in the bright afternoon sun. The aperture varied a little. The red bowl was darker, so it got a bigger opening. They were all ISO-64, so I'm only labeling one with that.f/4.5

The ruler was to help with the focus. Audrey and Cherise dripped the water for me and held the ruler. It would have been a lot harder without them! Help is a good thing!f/7.1
