Splash

f/4.5
1/1000 sec.
ISO-64

I read an article on how to photograph splashes. (well it was actually how to make patterned water, but I couldn't find a bowl that had a design on it!) So I decided to try it out today. I used a tripod, an aqua bowl and a red bowl (which was too small), my Nikon Coolpix P80, a medicine dropper, a ruler, and two of my sisters who obligingly helped me out.

f/7.1
1/2000 sec.

I used the fastest shutter speed my camera has (on manual mode). Since it was so fast, I took these all outside in the bright afternoon sun. The aperture varied a little. The red bowl was darker, so it got a bigger opening. They were all ISO-64, so I'm only labeling one with that.

f/4.5
1/1000 sec.

The ruler was to help with the focus. Audrey and Cherise dripped the water for me and held the ruler. It would have been a lot harder without them! Help is a good thing!

f/7.1
1/1000 sec.

f/6.3
1/1000 sec.
f/6.3

This last one is just for fun! :-)

Psalm 84

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

For lack of a better title...

[the beta that Lilly calls "Toasty". I call it the fish.]

[My lovely older sister]
[She actually asked for a photoshoot. :-)]
This is my current life verse,
"And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. " Mark 10:27

Melissa

I was so glad to get someone to model for me that would actually stay still! I really like how these turned out. I used 3 different types of lighting: backlight, full sun, and shade. Notice how her shirt changes colors. It is the same shirt every picture!

[I couldn't decide which one I liked better]

[full sun around 4:00pm]
Of course none of those are straight from the camera. I love to edit them! In the last one I had to take away a lot of the junk in the neighbors' yard.

These are my sisters!

This is just half of my sisters.

How can such beautifulness be related to me?

Think Warm Thoughts!

It always cheers me up to photoshop pictures of our trip to Mustang Island in 2007. That was a blast, even though we got eaten up by mosquitoes and burnt to a crisp!

[I like the sound seagulls make :-)]
