Christmas wouldn't be half as fun if there wasn't as much lights

The most wonderful time...

to:

count your blessings

Slow down.

Spend time with family and friends.

Enjoy fellowshipping with the One who gave the greatest gift of all.

Sip a warm drink and watch the snow (or rain) fall.

Appreciate every moment.

Remember less is more when stressing about what to buy who. The thought is more important than the actual gift.

Cold Snap

I was getting a little worried about 2010. It started out unseasonably cold. Usually in Texas, it's only cold for a day or two and then it's to the January average in the 50's. But it just stayed cold... so cold that ice was beginning to form on the ponds. (That just doesn't happen in Texas, btw. We ice skate indoors, all the time) But... today it got up to 56°! I was beginning to think I'd had moved up North! Texas, I'm glad you're back to normal! I was even a little glad to see the burnt grass on the way into town today... even though it was cold, it has been pretty dry.

We continued roofing, although it was cold. The roof is now completely shingled on our addition!

"Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow?" Job 38:22

Whoa, for once I think I covered almost all of my siblings in one post! 9 out of 10!

"I'm dreaming of a White Christmas..."

Not that big of a deal, you think? Snow on Christmas? In Texas, it's a miracle! Especially since there was no snow at all last winter! There were lots of happy faces around here and it was a Christmas to remember! The last white Christmas the DFW area saw was 70 years ago! I still can't believe it! "Thank you God, it was such an unexpected blessing!"

Merry Christmas!

I haven't been posting a lot lately, I've been so busy, but I thought I'd share a few of my favorite Christmas pictures of this year!

Summer Christmas: Van ride

We took a four hour trip on Saturday to a family reunion in San Angelo. It was also a Christmas celebration because that part of the family has a really hard time getting together at Christmastime. So we just celebrate in the summer. :) Anyway, we got all packed and rode in the van. I was surprised we all still fit. These are all pictures from the ride. I'll post some of the pictures from the reunion in a later post.

[we were supposed to leave before it got light, but we ended up leaving just as the sun was coming up]

[a van full of fun!]

[we stopped at a Cracker Barrel and saw a few Corvettes in a row. Of course, I had to take pictures!]

[can't go to Cracker Barrel without getting candy sticks at 10 for $1!]
