Project 52: Week 27

We found a great patriotic idea for strawberries in a magazine. It looked so good that we just had to try it. I used Ghiradelli white chocolate. It just may become a 4th of July tradition.

Playing Round Robin on the 4th in the garage was hot, but fun!

And what's the 4th without fireworks? We were under a firework ban this year, so we only did sparklers and a few fountains. The neighbors though, somehow missed that memo and shot theirs off right over our house, so it was rather hard to miss. We got our fireworks this year without having to pay for them and thankfully there were no fires. :)

Project 52: Week 26

A bird got stuck in our currently-not-working fountain. We couldn't figure out if it was too sick to fly, or hadn't learned yet.

Fun new nail polish colors for summer!

When you have a sister who loves to paint nails and is quite good at it, your toes can always look professional!

Project 52 is halfway over.... and 2011 is also halfway over. This is hard to believe. It's going by so fast!

Project 52: Week 25

Last week, my computer was dead because the cord stopped working on me. But now it works, because my awesome brother had a leftover part from when it was his computer. So week 25 is nearly a week late, and I'll  post week 26 tomorrow.

Hannah, Melissa and William did a wonderful job at their piano convention!

What we call "bubble clouds" were over our house one day.

Our house at night. I was trying to get good pictures of a lightning storm, but I started too late to get any good ones. This was either a 20 sec or 10 sec exposure. I think this makes our house look warm and friendly. I like the glow of the city behind the house.

This next section of pictures is another reason why I didn't post last week: Treasure Quest VBS at our church. We had an individual theme for each day centered around gems and spiritual disciplines. Day 1 was Diamond Mountain/Salvation. Day 2 was Ruby Cavern/Prayer. Day 3 was Emerald Forest/Fellowship. Day 4 was Sapphire Glacier/Scripture. And day 5 was Topaz River/Soul-Winning. The funny skits my sister thought up helped cement these into my (and the kids') brain. Everyone (workers and kids) also wore shirts to match the color of the day. It was pretty fun, and went by super fast! I got a few pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

The mine tunnel that took all day to make but stayed up for two weeks because it was so awesome!

The sanctuary in progress. I neglected to take a picture of the finished creation, but it was pretty neat.

I helped with snacks this year, so most of my pictures are from that.

Project 52: Week 24

This time around I'm a day late because our internet was not working so well yesterday.

Most of what we did this last week was redecorating our room and getting ready for VBS at our church. VBS pictures will be next week, but our room project is (mostly) finished.

We found a color we liked called "A Beautiful Beige"

This is my new corner of the room! It's going to end up with a little more on the walls, but this is basically it. I love it!

The moon was full a couple of days ago. I managed to get off a few shots before it went behind a cloud. It was bright enough to see your shadow.

Project 52: Week 23

We set up our pool not too long ago, and already it has gotten a lot of use. The kids love it.

The sky was so beautiful the other day, I couldn't not take a few pictures of it!

Project 52: Week 22

My littlest sister drew my name last Christmas and gave me this candle-holder that catches light beautifully and scatters it throughout the room.

Table decorations for my grandmother's birthday celebration. Yes, my bird's eye view photography needs a little work!

These last three were taken on Memorial Day. We had an enjoyable day - my uncle came over, we grilled out, set up the pool, and the boys cut down more trees!
